On a sun-dappled day in August, US-based couple Jingwen and Clay exchanged vows surrounded by 140 of their beloved folks within the coronary heart of the Kildare countryside. Let’s get to know our great couple a little bit bit extra first. Jingwen is from Beijing in China whereas Clay is from Tama County in Iowa. They cut up their time between Teton County, Wyoming (a mountain residence), Tama County, Iowa (their farm), and Silicon Valley (the place Clay’s funding agency is predicated).

The celebrations started with a Friday reception at Ballykilcavan Farm, the craft beer brewery which is housed on a historic household farm in Stradbally, Co. Laois. “It was outstanding – touring the brewery and farm, eating outside on picnic tables, and listening to live music.”
A second for our dashing grooms occasion! Clay styled his customized tailor-made go well with with a Zegna shirt, Overton-style patent leather-based sneakers from Crockett & Jones, and a Tom Ford bow tie. The groomsmen chosen their very own fits which complemented the groom’s exquisitely.
Jingwen’s bridesmaids have been a imaginative and prescient in blue satin Birdy Grey robes with combine and match necklines.
Rev. Craig Ferguson, who was Clay’s pastor from his youthful days in Iowa, officiated their ceremony bringing an added layer of sweetest to the service.

With alpacas (who wore the sweetest floral collars that tied with the bride’s pink bouquet), bespoke ice cream and a photograph mirror, they delighted their company with an entire collection of great surprises.
“We wanted a range of activities and events where different groups of guests could engage each other and their surroundings in a very living way,” they clarify. “Golf, archery, falconeering, croquet are activities that are experienced in a way created by the participants and their interactions and evoke moments of joy, frustration, humor, and surprise that can’t be preprogrammed. Clay also led a first light run through the countryside and a nearby forest at 5:30am the day of the wedding.”
They shed extra gentle on what impressed their aesthetic and vibe, “Clay is a farmer, which is a rustic and humble way of life, but he is also a Harvard trained engineer and co-owner of a Silicon Valley investment firm. Jingwen has a PhD in neurobiology and leads her own hedge fund investing in biotechnology. The guests span a wide range of professions, but are elite in their fields, and are overwhelmingly self-made. The venues and styles quietly, indirectly, honor those who build things by their own hands. The events we planned created camaraderie before the ceremony, and – with enthusiastic dancing let by the couple and engaged in wholeheartedly by the guests – a joyful reverie at the reception.”
They have been left in awe by their luxurious wedding ceremony venue Kilkea Castle that’s soaked in historical past and character. “The castle speaks for itself. The majestic stone artifice and lush surroundings are the very image of a fairytale. But not because of the stone itself or the lawns themselves. It is because it speaks to the hands that built it, have tended to it, and tend to it this day. One expects to find craftsmanship in and around this place, and out of this beautiful countryside it was like a mystery that we uncovered and revealed at every turn. By this I mean each vendor and proprietor that we met brought their care and personal touch. The guests span a wide range of professions, but are elite in their fields, and are overwhelmingly self-made. The venues and styles quietly, indirectly, honor those who build things by their own hands.”
The couple held their reception within the ballroom that boasts beautiful uncovered brick partitions and glittering chandeliers.
With lovely ceremony music by Astral Strings, Mark Waters created the proper environment for his or her reception. “One of the most special moments was the first performance of a piano piece, composed specifically for the wedding by famed composer and Harvard math professor Noam Elkies, performed by Noam himself,” they mirror.
They dazzled their family members with their unimaginable first dance to You Say by Lauren Daigle.
The bride left their family members enchanted once more together with her second wedding ceremony gown, a conventional robe in vivid crimson which echoed the gorgeous blooms of their ceremony area.
